We may not have a large herd of females but what we do offer is a group of very
consistent mama cows. Our females must all meet our strict performance targets to
remain in the herd. Our cows are all docile, easy-keeping females that receive no
special attention or care. Kansas is known for its extreme weather, both hot and cold,
and our females have kept in stride and proven they can adapt to any situation and
be productive.
It costs the same to raise a good calf as a poor one and so we expect
all our cows to raise good calves every year. Along those lines, all the cattle we
sell must meet the same standards. If it isn't good enough to make it back into our
herd, we won't be selling it as such. It can be hard parting with some of our best
cattle, but our philosophy is to only sell our customers what we are proud of and
would keep for our own herd.
Here are a few examples of types of females we own and raise: |
Miss DRR Chica R144 PB53676
Congrats to Broken Oak Ranch on their purchase of this outstanding female.
Chica has won her class and/or division in every show she has been in and will
be as successful in the pasture.

MISS DOUBLE R RUBY 4145 PB40200
Ruby is the mother of both Chica (above) and our Herd Sire Oz (see sires page). She is an outstanding
polled cow we raised and is solid, consistent and fertile. She is pictured at 9 years of age. We now have embryos for sale on Ruby
x our Yahoo bull, which would be FULL sibs to Oz.

Miss DRR Margie 767
AS35301
Margie 767 is one of the first Braunvieh females we purchased and became our first
donor cow in 2007. She has shown us over 10 years of production that you can match her to any bull and she will produce a good calf. She has produced herd sire Mr DRR Warrior 134 AS40203 as well as 4 daughters in
our herd and others sold as replacements. The ET calves are no exception and after a first successful flush to Walker, Margie is now being flushed at the age of 12 1/2. To date, every one of her ET calves has become a herd bull or replacement female.
If you are interested in purchasing a flush or embryos from Margie, let us know. We got 8 ET calves out of 11 embryos in our first flush with Margie.

Miss Double R 1344 PB47207
This female is also a daughter of Ruby and is quickly becoming one of the best cows on the ranch. She has raised a herd bull and 2 outstanding females and is only 6 years old. She has EPDs in the top 15% of the breed and her progeny record of 4 @ 110 for weaning with an MPPA of 19.7 supports her quality and consistency.

Miss Double R Betsy 6055 PC34649
This halfblood Yahoo daughter we raised is pictured with her 75% Braunvieh calf and has given us a replacement
quality calf every year. The Braunvieh/Charolais cross has been very successful for us.

Miss DRR Ariel R730 PB53675
Ariel is a young Matt daughter with a tremendous set of EPDs and the performance to back it up. She is
pictured with her week old 2008 bull calf sired by DRR Oz-Man. This calf is now a herd bull for Big Blue in Nebraska and
wow'd many people that saw him. The Matt daughters are performing well and
so far all have calved unassisted on their first calf and then bred back on schedule with the herd. Ariel calved a few days earlier in 2009 with a beautiful polled Oz heifer calf.

Miss BOR 1744T PB61889
Meet the newest female to join our herd. This Polled Vision daughter came from the highly regarded Broken Oak
Ranch in Texas. She is a powerful young polled female with style and outcross genetics. We now have embryos for sale
from her mated to our Oz bull. The two should make a great combination of depth, muscle, structure, and style in a polled package.

A very strong criteria in our selection of bulls and females is disposition. If it's not easy to handle,
it's not in our herd.
